Quick Notes about Dog-Friendly Accommodations

When bringing your dog with you on holiday, there are some general things to consider for staying in a hotel with your pet.

  • Check for extra fees. Itโ€™s common for there to be a fee of about $25-50 per night per pet (this is usually to cover deep-cleaning services)
  • Pet-friendly hotels generally provide extra amenities, such as a pet bed, food and water bowls, and a treat.
  • Usually, pets may not be left unattended in the room.
  • Always book a pet friendly room ahead of time, as space is limited.
  • If your hotel is within Banff National Park, pets must always be on a leash
  • Keep your pets off the furniture and clean up after your pet.

1. Fairmont Banff Springs Hotel

โญ๏ธ RATING: 8.8/10 Stars (632 reviews) |๐Ÿ“ LOCATION: Valleyview | โœ… Book it!

The Fairmont Banff Springs Hotel is undoubtedly one of the best pet friendly hotels Banff has in town. They even refer to themselves as the โ€˜Furmont.โ€™

One way they are extra accommodating is with their Canine Ambassador Program at the Banff Springs Hotel.

For a small additional fee, they offer dog walking and pet-sitting services by appointment (24-hour notice required for pet-sitting). The two Ambassadors, Bear and Lily, will make your dog feel loved and comfortable upon arrival and throughout the stay.

The hotel requires pets to remain secured in your hotel room, and although your pet is not allowed in the hotel restaurants or pool facilities, they are allowed on the patios!

The Fairmont Banff Springs Hotel strongly supports local businesses, as evident by a special retail section in the main lobby full of locally sourced products, including pet treats from the local pet store, Banff Doghouse

This is a very popular hotel in Banff, so you will want to book a room at Fairmont Banff Springs ahead of time!

Also, be aware that an extra charge of $50 per pet per night applies when you bring your dog.

But itโ€™s well worth the extra money as they lead the Banff hotel industry in caring for pets and pet owners.

โ€œWe brought a BIG dog (adolescent wolfhound) and the lovely people at the Banff Springs were incredibly, consistently welcoming. She was welcome everywhere except the food service areas and was fussed over by every staff member she met!โ€ – Adrienne (see more reviews)
